Our Outback Instagram Competition

The Instagram competition is being run from 2.6.23 - 30.6.23  to select the best photos in the following eight (8) categories:

  • Best Regional Photograph
  • Best Photograph of Alpha 
  • Best Photograph of Aramac 
  • Best Photograph of Barcaldine 
  • Best Photograph of Jericho  
  • Best Photograph of Muttaburra  
  • Best Photograph by a Junior
  • People’s Choice Award 

All prize winners will receive $100 gift card.

People’s Choice Award will go to the photograph with the most likes.

Voting commences at the same time as the competition

Winners will be decided by a panel of judges.  Judging to take place in July.  Winners will be announced on 14 July 2023.

To enter: 

  1. Upload to OurOutbackInsta
  2. In the caption write a sentence identifying which town in the region it was taken and  (ii) why you love living in the outback.
  3. Tag with 2 hastags #ouroutback  and #intheheartofoutbackqld

Conditions of Entry

The competition is open to all residents and visitors to the Barcaldine Regional Council area.
Photos must be taken within the Barcaldine Regional Council area and identified in the caption on the Instagram page
Entrants in the Junior Section must be under 17 years of age and completed the parental permission form attached (click to link)
Entrants must not incorrectly tag locations or people.
Entrants agree to the release of photos to Barcaldine Regional Council and that they remain the property of BRC and can be used for future promotional reasons.
Entrants need to have a public (not private) Instagram account to enter
